About

Vertical transportation consultants, independent by design

Elevator Project Management advises building owners and asset managers on lifts and escalators, in one building or across a portfolio. Founded by Andrew Packness and Alex Lee in 2016, we do not sell, install or maintain equipment, which is what makes the advice independent.

How we work

Four things we hold to

  • 01

    We work for the owner

Our advice is not tied to a manufacturer’s product line. The recommendation that follows an audit is the one the evidence supports, whoever ends up supplying the equipment.

  • 02

    Measure before you specify

Traffic analysis and condition assessment come first. Specifying an upgrade before establishing what the building actually needs is how owners end up paying for capacity they will never use.

  • 03

    The building keeps operating

Almost every project we manage runs in an occupied building. On a lift modernisation the programme is an engineering decision: what the tenants are told, which car comes out, and when it comes back.

  • 04

    Accountable maintenance

A maintenance contract that cannot be measured cannot be managed. We rate service performance on a consistent scale so a portfolio owner can compare buildings, contractors and years on the same terms.

Our team

The people on your lift and escalator project

The engineer who assesses your building signs the report. You will deal with the same people from audit through to defects liability.

Ten years with The Smith Family

EPM has sponsored students through The Smith Family since 2016, the firm’s first year.

The Smith Family

Since 2016

An Australian children’s education charity.

Sponsorship runs through Learning for Life, which attaches to a named student. It pays for the school essentials a family has to find every year, uniforms and shoes, textbooks, stationery and the cost of an excursion, and it gives the family a coordinator who works with them on whatever is keeping the child out of school. Students also get access to The Smith Family’s literacy, numeracy and mentoring programs.
