Vertical transportation consultants

Building relationships with industry talent and innovation

Lifts are a capital decision before they are a maintenance problem. Condition audits, traffic analysis, modernisation and maintenance contract audits, for lifts and escalators across Australia. We work for the building owner, measuring what the equipment actually does, then managing the work that follows.

Independent by design

We do not sell, install or maintain equipment

It means one set of measurements on the job that everyone can work from. The recommendation that follows a condition audit is the one the evidence supports, whoever ends up supplying the lift.

Escalators criss-crossing a full-height shopping centre void through three retail levels, shoppers moving on each floor.
We assess the equipment. We have never had a reason to prefer one supplier’s.

Three ways owners bring in a lift consultant

Most engagements start with an audit and end with a maintenance contract that can actually be held to account.

Lift Condition Audits & Design

  • Conceptual and schematic design
  • Design development and upgrade specifications
  • Equipment condition audits
  • Traffic analysis and modelling

Lift & Escalator Project Management

End-to-end delivery of lift modernisation and escalator works, from capital approval through to defects liability, on the owner’s behalf.

Maintenance Contract Audit & Management

An independent audit of the maintenance contract an owner is already paying for, then the management of it, under MAPLE, the Maintenance Assessment Program for Lifts and Escalators. First deployed in 2018 and now covering 4,800 lifts and 1,211 escalators and moving walks in 935 buildings.

  • Maintenance agreement analysis (GTTR, MTBF, fault mode)
  • Contract management and mandatory compliance reporting
  • Independent site audit via our own mobile app
  • Live performance dashboard: availability, response, downtime

How we start

What comes before a lift modernisation

Traffic analysis, equipment condition and compliance position, established first. A replacement budget is easier to sign off when the measurement comes before the proposals.

Sectors

The building type changes the problem

A lift outage in a hospital is a patient-movement issue. In a shopping centre it is lost turnover. The engineering is similar; the programme is not.
